CR249A

County maps show this as 'Beale' Cemetery but all the markers use the spelling: Beal.

J. D. Logan
( -1846)

The Beal Cemetery is set in the middle of Mr. Walt Pyle's pasture. Unless you want to jump fences and stare down the bull, send e-mail to get permission.

John F. Beal
(1802 - 1880)

Texas Revolution Veteran

The Beale homestead built in 1849 looks over the cemetery.

'Little Crowder'
Richard T. Beal
son of J.T. & P.A.
(1879 - 1880)

Suffer little children to come unto me.

It was a hard life and many children died young. Little Crowder's marker conveys much affection. It says a lot about life in this old homestead.

The log frame was covered with cypress siding.

The post oak piles and hand hewn beams still hold up the 'dog run' style structure.

Mary A Beal
(1822 - 1883)
